The Ministry of Transport has just issued a decision to announce the opening of Phu My inland port (phase 1) in Phu My 3 Specialized Industrial Park, Phuoc Hoa ward, Phu My town, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province.

Phu My inland port is allowed to operate, provide services and carry out import and export procedures at the inland port in accordance with the Government's Decree No. 38/2017 dated April 4, 2017 and the investment registration certificate, enterprise registration certificate issued by a competent authority.

The investor of the inland port (Thanh Binh Phu My Joint Stock Company) shall perform the responsibilities and powers of the port operator in accordance with the provisions of Decree No. 38/2017 and the provisions of law; To organize the operation of the inland port after completing all procedures as prescribed and for the right purposes, suitable to the investment stages, ensuring safety and security, preventing fire and explosion, and preventing environmental pollution.

The Vietnam Maritime Administration is assigned to inspect and supervise the operation of the inland port in accordance with relevant laws.

Phu My inland port has a scale of 37.8 hectares with jetties for ships of 3,000 tons/barge. The port consists of 6 jetties, capable of connecting to seaports, ICDs in the region as well as areas supplying raw materials for production and consumption across the country to Phu My 3 Specialized Industrial Park.

According to the development plan of Vietnam's inland port system in the period of 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, which is being submitted to the Government for approval, Phu My inland port has a throughput capacity of about 300,000 - 400,000 teu/year.
