"SUPER PORT" GEMALINK OFFICIALLY CAME INTO OPERATION

When put into operation, Gemalink port has become the largest deep-sea port in the South, capable of receiving three mother ships in and out of cargo at the same time. At the same time, this is the only deep-sea port in the region with a dedicated berth for feeder ships/barges connecting to Ho Chi Minh city, ports in the Mekong Delta and ports of other countries in the region such as: Thailand, Cambodia….
Gemalink Port has a total investment capital of phase 1 of 330 million USD. The project is jointly invested by two major corporations in the maritime and port operation sector, Gemadept Joint Stock Company (75%) and CMA-CGM Group (25%).
Basing on the layout, Gemalink port is capable of receiving the world's largest ships up to 200,000 DWT today. The port's handling capacity in the first phase is 1.5 million TEU / year and the whole project is 2.4 million TEU / year. In phase 1, the port has 800 m of main berth, make sure the reception of two mother ships and 230 m of feeder/barge berth, on an area of 33 hectares.
Gemalink Port is equipped with the most modern technology available today, with six STS cranes and 18 RTG cranes.
Gemalink Port is designed as Smart port, through the software system, all information and data during crane operation will be transmitted directly to the Port Operation Center, ensuring the control to each container position on the yard, through which the port operation becomes synchronous, efficient and safe.

Gemalink deep-sea port officially put into operation will contribute to promoting the development of logistics centers, satellite ICD networks, adjacent warehouses, industrial clusters and ancillary services in Ba Ria - Vung Tau and the whole Southern area.
