According to the Ba Ria - Vung Tau City Information Center, the leader of provincial People's Committee have just had a meeting with Tokuyama Corporation from Japan.
At the meeting, Tokuyama said that they are expected to implement the project of a polysilicon processing and cleaning plant in Phu My 3 Specialized Industrial Park. The plant will use metallic silicon as raw materials to manufacture polysilicon for semiconductors, solar cells. The project has an estimated total investment of about 30 million USD, with a usable land area of about 50,000m2.
Leaders of the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province welcomed investors and pledged to create all conditions for the enterprise to soon deploy the project.
With the advantage of industrial parks and seaports, Ba Ria - Vung Tau is one of the top localities in the country in terms of attracting foreign investment. In February 2023, the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province said that there were 447 foreign investment projects in the province with a total registered investment capital of 30,280.9 million USD. In which, there are 275 projects in industrial zones with total investment capital of 12,675.4 million USD; Outside the IP, there are 175 projects with a total registered investment capital of 17,659.72 million USD.
Particularly in the first 6 months of 2023, the province has granted 4 new projects with a total registered capital of 35.85 million USD; 13 projects adjusted to increase capital with a total additional registered capital of 166.01 million USD (reaching 22.18% of the plan, decreasing 32% compared to the same period in 2022).
