Start Construction Of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Express Way For Over 9,200 Billion VND in 2020

Minister of Transport Nguyen Van The and leaders of the two provinces of Dong Nai and Ba Ria - Vung Tau have just had a meeting to find suitable plans to deploy the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau highway project.

Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway is planned to be built to become an arterial road in the southern key economic region of the country. The expressway will pass through 25 communes of 7 cities, districts and towns of Dong Nai and Ba Ria - Vung Tau provinces with an area of over 613km2 total.

Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway will transport large quantities of goods from the five major seaports in Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Dong Nai areas and dozens of industrial parks and industrial clusters. This is also the focal point of many important routes such as Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, Long Thanh International Airport, Thu Thiem Railway, National Highway 51 ...

The consulting unit said that the length of the expressway is 77.6km, divided into 2 component projects. Phase 1 will be invested from the National Highway 1A bypass (1.5km from the intersection between Bien Hoa bypass and National Highway 51 and 6.5 km from Vung Tau fork) to Cai Mep - Thi Vai international port complex. The whole route is 46.8m long, including 4 lanes, 17m cross section. Of the total length, there are 8.8 km of level 3 delta roads connecting to Cai Mep - Thi Vai port in Ba Ria - Vung Tau; 3.8km of expressway in Ba Ria - Vung Tau and 34.2km of highway in Dong Nai.

The project is invested in the form of BOT with a capital of about 9.222.8 billion VNĐ, construction time is 24 months. The expected payback period is after 22 years and 3 months. Phase 2 will proceed to expand 6-8 lanes of phase 1. Agreeing with the proposals of Dong Nai and Ba Ria - Vung Tau provinces, the Minister of Transport allowed to invest in phase 1 from Bien Hoa to Cai Mep - Thi Vai international port cluster.

Minister Nguyen Van The also agreed to assign Dong Nai People's Committee as a competent government management agency to carry out the section from Bien Hoa to Long Thanh - Dau Giay highway (16.8km); Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial People's Committee is a competent government authority to carry out the section from Long Thanh - Dau Giay highway to Phu My - Cai Mep (30km) and Component 2 project (30.8km from the Phu My town to Vung Tau City).
