At the meeting, the delegates focused on discussing solutions to achieve a goal of striving until 25 August, turning all areas with the risk infection into “green zones” (except for Long Hai Town and Long Dien District).

According to a report of the Provincial Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, until 6 pm on August 10, Ba Ria Vung Tau recorded 53 new cases, the number of cases from June 28 until now is 2.325 cases. During the day, there were 117 recovered cases which bringing the total number of recovered cases to 933.

The Provincial Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control evaluated that the epidemic situation in the area is basically control but there were still case exits in the community showing the potential epidemic risk. Therefore, department, branches and localities need to strictly implement social distancing follow by Directive 16, not to be negligent, subjective and more thorough in epidemic prevention and control.

In which, Vung Tau and Long Dien are two high-risk and very high-risk localities. "Looking at the current situation of the whole province, the risk of an epidemic is still high," commented Mr Tran Van Tuan. Provincial Steering Committee has set a goal to strive the target that from now to August 25, the province will basically switch to normal state, all areas turn into “green areas” except Long Hai Town is still hot pot.

To achieve a goal, Provincial Steering Committee concentrate to synchronous implementation 7 remedies: focus on talking samples for large scale tests; maintaining the “green zone”, gradually expanding the “green areas”, narrowing the “red zones”, switch to infection prevention in the isolation area, to eliminate the “red area”, remove the blockade. The third remedy is tightened the management of concentrated isolation areas and reduced the isolation density to 30%. At the same time, piloting F1 isolation at home. The fourth remedy is urgently vaccinated as soon as possible. The fifth remedy is intensified peace and order and social security, take care the poor people and conduct to payment support according to Resolution 68 of Government. The sixth remedy is reinforced propaganda, raise people’s awareness in the execute of social distancing and finally mobilize forces to participate in prevention and control epidemic.

At the speech in meeting, Mr Pham Viet Thanh assessed this as a “very challenging’ goal; however, the whole province will make effort to succeed. “We need to stick to the goals and the epidemic to flexibly respond in time and quickly unravel it wherever we stuck. All resources and forces are most concentrated on prevention and control disease to achieve the set goals, “stated by Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee”.
